Best and Worst NFL Uniforms

Which side of the list is Miami on?
When the lockout ended, we saw a frenzy of free agent signings. Many outlets have posted their "winners and losers" articles on which teams did the best at adding these free agents.

With most of the free agents signed, it's off to training camp to prepare for the start of the season. Thursday was the first day free agents were allowed to don their new uniforms and begin practicing with their new teams.

After reviewing all 32 NFL teams, I have made my own list based on the best and worst uniforms those free agents will be wearing.

Lets start with the 5 best...

5 - Colts: All White

Peyton Manning
It's nothing flashy, but as you will see on the list of the 5 worst uniforms, sometimes simple and classic is good. This is one of those cases. The All whites are clean and classic; perhaps Peyton Manning was destined to wear this combination.

4 - Bears: Navy tops, White bottoms

Brian Urlacher
Again, another classic combination. From the simple "C" on the helmet, to the initials "GSH" on the sleeves to honor former owner George Halas, these unis make the number 4 spot on my list.

3 - Raiders: Silver pants, Black Jerseys

Nnandi Asomugha
You may hate Al Davis and the Raider Nation, but they do wear a sweet pair of cloths on the field every Sunday.

The Raiders are known for a rough group of fans, a ruthless owner and classless play on the field; the Silver and Black embody all of that.

2 - Eagles: White pants, Green tops

Michael Vick
OK, admittedly, Michael Vick makes this look a lot better. Maybe when he's gone, this uniform will drop down the list, but for now, it looks reeeeeeally good.

Is there a better looking site than Michael Vick scrambling all over the field, making defenders look silly? Exactly.

1- Ravens: All Black

Ed Reed
This has always been my favorite uniform. It's tough and fast. Like Vick, I suppose Ray Lewis and Ed Reed make anything they wear look mean.

When the Ravens defense is at it's best, flying all over the field, the all black uniforms look scarier than any other uniform in the league.

While the previous 5 uniforms look good, lets take a look at the 5 worst uniforms that simply make players look ridiculous..

5 - Bengals: Black Tiger Stripes

Hmmm
This is just fashion gone very wrong. While I enjoy the all black look, see the Ravens above, this uni is a disaster. The idea was their, while the execution went very very wrong.

Taking a great color like black and highlighting it with a terrible orange equals a terrible look.

4 - Chargers: Powder blue tops

Yikes!
This is the most over hyped uniform in the league! I'm not putting at the top spot, but it is NOT a good look. The powder blue top is a perfect match for a city with the best weather in the country, blue skies and beaches. It is not a good look for a football team.

Wearing these jerseys on the football is a statement saying "We may not beat you, but we are going to look good regardless!"

3 - Dolphins: White pants, Orange tops

Can't run from the ugliness!
To be honest, I could have put the Dolphins on this list for multiple jersey options, this just happens to be the worst of their many terrible options.

Not sure what teams are going for (jersey sales being the unfortunate answer), but these flashy, eye-catching options fail far more often than they succeed.

2 - Buccaneers: Retro Orange tops

Anyone seriously scared?
Seriously, who is approving these jerseys? I understand the design team trying to be edgy and take football fashion somewhere new. I get that. It's their job. But who in the front office saw this design and said "Yes, lets wear that on the field!"

As a defender, how do you possibly take a team seriously when they look like this? Perhaps that's part of the plan, to get the opposing team to underestimate you. Hey, it's the Bucs, they need all the edge they can get most years.

1 - Redskins: Yellow and Maroon-ish

Chili cheese Fritos anyone?
I think I played a Junior High team with uniforms like this. Most teams on this list have terrible tops and keep it simple on the bottom with a classic white pant to limit the potential for uniform disaster. The Redskins? Oh no, they went all in on this one, getting every ugly color they could find, onto their jerseys AND pants.

Dan Snider should team up with Chili Cheese Fritos for this one.
